Get up and go with Nomalanga

GAGASI FM's hot new girl is here to stay! Nomalanga, aka "The Flame", Shozi has taken the airwaves by storm and she's not afraid to give praise to senior Gagasi presenter, King Sfiso, who paved the way for her.

This 21-year-old energetic and beautiful host is originally from Port Shepstone, on the south coast of KwaZulu-Natal. Even though she grew up listening to Ukhozi FM, she eventually became Gagasi FM's number one fan. Nomalanga has worked at Ugu Youth Radio, in Port Shepstone, KZN.

The young and ambitious Nomalanga was not shy to ask for information from King Sfiso on how to invade commercial radio. She said: "I met my brother, King Sfiso, at an event held on the south coast of KwaZulu-Natal. "I didn't waste any time, I went straight to him and he gave me the right information. It's a milestone to be where I am today," she said. "Gagasi FM has afforded me more exposure and I'm able to reach out to more people compared to the previous radio station."

The talkative presenter told SunBuzz she has always loved the media. This resulted in her choosing to study Public Relations at Boston College in Durban. ,She's now doing her second year.  She went on: "I needed to study something to do with media. And Public Relations is it."

Working at Gagasi FM wasn't a walk in the park for Nomalanga, as she had to do three different shows. And her patience finally paid off. On Thursdays, she co-hosts a hip hop show called Gagasi Music Station Hip Hop between 8pm and 10pm. On Saturday and Sunday she's on the Early Rise from 4am to 7am. Her future dream is to work for a national radio station.
